Apex Predators

I was browsing Wikipedia, when I stumbled across the following entry within the Apex Predator article. The idea that an apex predator will reshape an ecosystem or enforce and ecosystems current state is interesting, both on its own and when applied to human reshaping of the world we live in. If apex predators shape the local ecosystem into an environment suited to their survival style, then what does our reshaping of ecosystems saw about modern humans?
